Luke Burbank would get along great with skinny dipping congressman

A congressman is making headlines for taking a naked swim in the Sea of Galilee.

Luke Burbank says alcohol was likely involved and neither he nor Dave Ross see much wrong with it.

"How much time are you supposed to spend learning about the other country on the fact-finding mission?" asks Dave Ross in a discussion of the story on Monday's Ross and Burbank Show. "Would it be OK to say spend an eight hour day doing the fact finding and then after the fact finding is over you go to a bar, get drunk, get naked, and jump in the Sea of Galilee?"

"I don't personally have a problem with that," says Burbank.

A Ross and Burbank listener who knows skinny-dipping Congressman Kevin Yoder says she thinks Burbank and the congressman would actually get along great together.

MJ in Arlington writes:

I know Kevin Yoder personally. He is from my home town and he is great friends with my brother and was a member of his wedding party. Imagine my surprise to hear his name on your show this AM! Luke, you would like Kevin :) Though a conservative, he is a great guy and you would like him! Sounds like he had a great time! He attended KU (I am a K-Stater) and possibly that is where the trouble began!! haha

"I knew there was something about this Yoder guy I liked," says Luke. "Now it's been independently confirmed by MJ."

    Congress vs. Federal Agents
So drunken activity by a formal U.S. representative to another country is okay, but when law enforcement go out drinking and engage in legal foreign activity you call for their jobs. Is it just the wealthy white collar type you like, or is it just a hatred of police/federal agents?

Uh - Earth to whoever is offended - I't not exactly a pond.
Considering the Sea of Galilee is over 100 SQUARE MILES in size, it's not like this guy was using a baptismal as a hot tub.

Drunk or not (and Luke really IS the expert on that subject), just what DID this guy do wrong? .......Another dull, slow news day.

Jesus May Have Walked on the Sea of Galilee, But a Republican Congressman Jumped In It Naked
During a fact-finding congressional trip to the Holy Land last summer, Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) took off his clothes and jumped into the sea, joining a number of members, their families and GOP staff during a night out in Israel, the sources told POLITICO. Other participants, including the daughter of another congressman, swam fully clothed, while some lawmakers partially disrobed. More than 20 people took part in the late-night dip in the sea, according to sources who were participants in the trip. He wasn't the only member of Congress to have waded into the waters, though—Rep. Steve Southerland (R-Fla.) and his daughter; Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) and his wife; Reps. Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.), Jeff Denham (R-Calif.) and Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) also took a dip, though they didn't follow Yoder's lead and disrobe completely. The reasons for jumping have been varied: some said it was because of the lake's religious significance, others because they wanted to cool off after a long day. Oh yeah, and alcohol may have been a factor. Before the impromptu swim took place, the delegation of congressman and staff ate and drank at Decks, a popular restaurant located alongside the lake.

    and your point is?
    1. The 'Sea' of Galilee (a fresh water lake) is about the size of Lake Washington.

    2. Would someone swimming in Kirkland upset the good folks down in Renton?

    3. Dukes aside. And drinking aside. I suspect people have been swimming nude in the Sea of Galilee for at least the past 2000 years. Perhaps even ...........

and your point is? GOP has no respect for the Bible . . . .
walk your walk thats all we ask for. If someone swims in your water (its fresh water) reservoir would that upset you ron? Republicans are good for making excuses. Give us a few more Ron.

CH - its ONE HUNDRED SQUARE MILES !
It's NOT a 'reservoir' and it's no more 'holy' than any other body of water. ... I've not done a Google search, BUT I wouldn't be surprised to find a nude beach or two on the shores.

But, BTW, I wouldn't encourage swimming in any open reservoir in Seattle - but I wouldn't drain it either if someone did. ......... But, Hey, he didn't PEE in the sea did he ? .. Then we just might have to drain the entire thing )like that Portland reservoir a few weeks ago)

    Too funny!
Yoder appeared in a TV commercial during that campaign with his wife and three children.

One problem: The kids weren’t his. (He and his wife are childless.)
