Metro Transit employee accused of stealing McKenna yard signs

A Rob McKenna campaign volunteer has sent me this photo of what he says is a uniformed Metro Transit employee stealing Rob McKenna yard signs that were located near Safeco Field.

From our news partners at KING-5:

People that work in the area say the signs are either missing or no longer visible. Several McKenna Campaign signs are scattered across the ground. In one of the emailed pictures, it appears the man in it is smiling about taking the signs.

"It's against county policy and it's against the law," said Terry Thomas, a campaign volunteer.

According to Thomas, signs have been missing the last several weeks.

"It's no secret that Metro Transit Union workers have endorsed Jay Inslee for Governor," he said.

Metro Transit says it has launched an investigation. The Union has not commented.

Tampering with campaign signs is just a misdemeanor offense. But if a uniformed Metro employee is guilty of such a stupid and selfish act, shouldn't they be fired for that?

I hate these signs. They're out of control.
Put whatever sign you want on your own property. But when these signs are put on public land, such as sidewalk planters or medians or whatever, they should ALL be ripped down.

Just like Romney and the rest of the super wealthy evading taxes offshore only to get a tax repatriation day to return money to US.

If its legal who cares? Why is being successful and wealthy bad? I have investments overseas. We all have the same opportunity here in America. Why do you suppose that everyone immigrates here? The American dream is still alive and well, unless Obama gets re- elected. Then, well, we're headed for 4 more years of division & class warfare!

Very clever business model and it seems like it would work in a perfect world, but I do see a few flaws (as I'm sure everyone else does also).

I am taking your idea and working out a business plan (all legal of course, wink wink) just in case our genius politicians take your idea to fruition.

One less liberal employed by Metro hopefully
You notice you never see republicans doing this? And you never see Inslee signs defaced as you do McKenna signs? Liberals are a bunch of losers and thugs. You libs need to GROW UP and let the election process work as it was designed instead of playing children's pranks and breaking the law. Idiots.

    Bottom Line Stealing is Stealing
I don't care if your a Inslee or McKenna supporter. Whoever this person is they represent the county when they are in uniform. So stealing signs that support a political point of view when you are in uniform means that you should be fired for theft because if your willing to steal from peoples property how can we trust you as a county employee?

    Me too...
I used to live in a neighborhood of doctors, lawyers and 'indian chiefs' (well... not indian chiefs but you get the picture) - all educated professional high income folks. During the campaign in which McGavick ran I had on three occasions his yard signs removed from my private property by one of my doctor or lawyer neighbors. Nasty people...
