Metro Transit employee accused of stealing McKenna yard signs

A Rob McKenna campaign volunteer has sent me this photo of what he says is a uniformed Metro Transit employee stealing Rob McKenna yard signs that were located near Safeco Field.

People that work in the area say the signs are either missing or no longer visible. Several McKenna Campaign signs are scattered across the ground. In one of the emailed pictures, it appears the man in it is smiling about taking the signs.

"It's against county policy and it's against the law," said Terry Thomas, a campaign volunteer.

According to Thomas, signs have been missing the last several weeks.

"It's no secret that Metro Transit Union workers have endorsed Jay Inslee for Governor," he said.

Metro Transit says it has launched an investigation. The Union has not commented.

Tampering with campaign signs is just a misdemeanor offense. But if a uniformed Metro employee is guilty of such a stupid and selfish act, shouldn't they be fired for that?

    and pictures of his children on the school grounds

    but since it was a violation against McKenna.

    They steal or knock down signs of people or initiatives that they disagree with during the campaign. Yet once the elections are over they are often too lazy to take away their own signs and leave them to sit there and sit there and sit there gathering mildew. No wonder some of these people still have that faded and peeling Gore-Lieberman sticker on their cars.

    He should be arrested and booked as well as fired as he is wearing a County uniform while committing the crime. What the heck is wrong with these idiots who think stealing signs is a good idea. If your choice is that bad that you have to steal the signs of the guy you don't want to win that just makes you a complete loser...

    1. Yes, it's agin the law.

    2. Yes, (if this is the guy) he is an idiot.

    3. Yes, Dori Monson is only stirring the pot because it's McKenna signs that are missing (as far as he's concerned).

    4. Yes, it's a slow news day at stately Monson estates.

    5. YES!!! I think that stealing signs is wrong!

    Is anyone's vote influenced on whether or not they counted 5,000 "of their favorite candidate" signs on their way to work and on their way home only counted 4,903?

    I will throw in another "who the effffff cares"......I think these signs and all the garbage that comes in the mail is just that...garbage.

    If you vote based upon yard signage.........do me a favor and don't vote at all.

    Tell that to the idiot who thought the signs were important enough to steal them. You can say 'who the effff cares?' but in a way the metro worker is cheating and doing his own small part to rig the election, at least in his mind. The motive is contemptible.

    Good question. He should be fired for being monumentally stupid...he's likely a safety hazard as stupid as he is.
