Metro Transit employee accused of stealing McKenna yard signs
on November 4, 2012 @ 4:56 pm (Updated: 5:15 pm - 11/4/12 )A Rob McKenna campaign volunteer has sent me this photo of what he says is a uniformed Metro Transit employee stealing Rob McKenna yard signs that were located near Safeco Field.
From our news partners at KING-5:
"It's against county policy and it's against the law," said Terry Thomas, a campaign volunteer.
According to Thomas, signs have been missing the last several weeks.
"It's no secret that Metro Transit Union workers have endorsed Jay Inslee for Governor," he said.People that work in the area say the signs are either missing or no longer visible. Several McKenna Campaign signs are scattered across the ground. In one of the emailed pictures, it appears the man in it is smiling about taking the signs.
Metro Transit says it has launched an investigation. The Union has not commented.
Tampering with campaign signs is just a misdemeanor offense. But if a uniformed Metro employee is guilty of such a stupid and selfish act, shouldn't they be fired for that?
