You be the jury: Should this Cleveland bus driver have been fired?

Warning: The above video contains explicit language

A Cleveland bus driver was fired after a video surfaced online where he punched a woman and kicked her off the bus.

In the video, we can see the woman was taunting the driver and other riders and that she hit the driver first. Dori wants to know if this situation could have been different if the driver had punched a man.

You be the jury: should this man have been fired?

    Tough call...
Violence is never a good option.. being a woman though. I know better than to run my mouth off to a man like that... I think he did the right thing for putting her in her place. The problem is he shouldn't have done it at work. That is just the consequence you get for making a poor choice. Maybe mine is a twisted point of view but dang she was out of control!!!

    Wow
I am usually on the "don't fire" side of these things, but wow. That was quite an upper cut.

    20+ years of dealing with
disrespectful garbage like that...... He snapped! No doubt about it! Dude snapped.

I can't blame the guy, but no way he can do that and not lose his job.

BTW: The dude was going for the knock out. He was in no way messing around. He had some anger and intent behind that uppercut. Text book maneuver, although a bit of a sucker punch to say the least......

    With behavior like that .....
Her mama should have smacked her a long time ago. I don't blame the driver at all.

Of course he deserves to be fired
You can't put your hands on a customer while at work, that's a no brainer. Now the chick deserved what she got, she looked like she put her hands on the driver and the driver should have called transit police. Now he did do her a favor by helping her look up to god for just a split second with that well timed upper cut and knocking that weave off of her head. I like his quote "you want to act like a man, I will treat you like one". Boo Yow

    Upper cut
I am a bus driver. I don't think the driver should have hit her. Men should never hit women, it is socially the right thing. However, it is a felony to touch a bus driver and as such the fine would have been quite steep for the passenger. I also know what it is like to be in a situation while driving, when you are tired and there have been several tiresome people on your route all day that a driver can snap. In Seattle drivers have the option of having a problem passenger ejected from the bus through police intervention. Perhaps there was no such recourse for this guy. Then of course, we only see part of the video. What started it? All I can say is that every situation has a bigger story. Drivers are supposed to have more restraint than the public: but, despite the legal and social restraints. Jerks sometimes eventually get what they deserve by pushing one too many buttons.
