Wussification of the NFL

Now the Seahawks are getting blasted for running up the clock during Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Don't the players on Arizona's defense get paid millions to stop the ball? Dori says this sounds like evidence the Wussification of America is leaking into the NFL.

Coach Pete Carroll insists he wasn't trying to rub it in anyone's faces. Instead, he was trying to get Matt Flynn, Seattle's backup quarterback, some badly needed game experience. (Read more)

the fans paid for 60 minutes of football.
And who is going to tell the back-up to the back-up that THEY shouldn't score? .. After all, THEY were playing for future jobs.

after all, we can't have low self esteem in the NFL.

We can just change it to the NFFL. National Flag Football League. It's not fair for those Cardinals to have to play against the Seahawks. To level the game out, we will have on Flag Football from this point forward. No more tackles. No more first downs. No more punts. Possession from 50 yard line gives them 4 attempts to reach the goal. BAN THE NFL, head injuries, drunk driving, and tight pants on men. ahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa

What was the point of your inane post? If you can't stop being a dingleberry, why even post? Now how do you feel about the topic?

    Wow Forrest,
That was so predictable. An obvious typo of instead of or, and when I saw it, I knew you would pounce. Does that really make my point moot? You don’t like Dori (or me). So why post on his blog?

    Competition
Now Arizona will do some reflecting and make changes that's how competition works. That's how it works unless it's our government and it's crony capitalism (fascism)and football is graded on a curve "darn wasn't that Seahawks/Cardinals game close. The Democrat's have not fooled everybody yet.

    Blowouts and blowouts
It may seem odd but I think Sunday's game was beyond blowout status when the passing began. If it had been 28-0 then I think you could make a case of running up the score. But the Hawks did run the ball, and the red guys were so inept they could not stop the runs for modest 3-5 yard gains. Once the score was 40-something to 0 it was beyond blowout and became essentially a practice session for the reserves, with a few starters sprinkled in since most NFL teams do not have dedicated backups at each position.

If they are indeed running up the clock that is serious and gravity defying. The score - no big deal

    running up the score
I can't think of a better way to kill time on a football field. At least they weren't forced to wear pink last Sunday (I'm all for breast cancer awareness, but come on).
