Misspelled Deer Park proposal is a success for Loren Lentz
on December 11, 2012 @ 12:55 pm (Updated: 1:36 pm - 12/11/12 )Loren Lentz was so excited to ask his girlfriend to marry him that he plowed the big question into part of his 200 acre Deer Park farm in eastern Washington. The only problem was that he misspelled his girlfriend's name.
Loren joined the Dori Monson Show to talk about the mishap that's gone viral.
"I kinda wanted to do something big, not necessarily in the public eye, but I wanted to do something special that she was going to remember," said Loren.
He had planned to spell out the words in big bales of hay, but since the weather started getting iffy, he decided to till the soil into the shape of the words.
"The letters were somewhere between 150 to 200 yards long," said Loren.
After Loren took his girlfriend, Jody, up in a friend's plane to pop the question they realized that Loren had misspelled his girlfriend's name. He had done the 'J' backwards, spelling 'Lody.'
Despite the mistake, Jody said yes. The couple plans to get married next month.
"It went adorably wrong," said Dori.
