The worst Christmas songs of all time

It's become an annual tradition on the Dori Monson Show to list the worst Christmas songs of all time. This year's list included some old favorites, as well as some newer, more oddball selections.

Dori is grated whenever he hears Jose Feliciano's 'Feliz Navidad' or Paul McCartney's 'Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime' come on the radio. Don't even get him started on Barbara Streisand's 'Jingle Bells.'

Listeners chimed in with their wost songs online and on-air, most commonly nominating 'Christmas in the Northwest,' 'Do They Know it's Christmas' by Band Aid, and 'Christmas Shoes.' A few even introduced previously unknown awful Christmas songs.

This year's definitive list of terrible Christmas songs:

Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano

Jingle Bells - Barbara Streisand

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Bruce Springsteen

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime - Sir Paul McCartney

I'm Ready for Christmas - The Rocktuplets

Santa Baby

All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth

Christmas in the Northwest - Brenda White

Christmas in Harlem - Kanye West

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - James Brown

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer - Neil Diamond

What you're saying on Facebook:

Billie Bosh Davies: Omg... Seattle's Latte Land! "Mmmmm!! I love coffee!!" Really???

Lisa Edwards: Christmas in the NW is by far the absolute worst!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CHEESY!

Noel Gauweiler: Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid

Arghhhhhhhhh!

Irene Endow: Christmas Shoes -- what a ridiculous, contrived, insipid song.

Laura Clarke Grimmer: Neil Diamond "Merry Merry Cherry Cherry Christmas", anything by Cher or William Shatner.

Chrissie Major Kristl: Barbara Streisand's jing jing jing jing jingle bells...it's so annoying!!!!

Pam McCoy Daignault: Stevie Nicks version of Silent Night!

I only have one problem with the list.
Bruce Springsteen's Santa Claus is coming to town is AWESOME! The rest (at least the ones I am familiar with) do indeed suck.

    I really despise
Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin Around the Christmas Tree because everyone that insists on a secular holiday plays these two to DEATH. Soooo tiresome.

    Dori has it right....again
Babs Jingle Bell song is the worst....I can't change the channel fast enough when it is on. Heck, I will be out looking at Christmas lights with my family and when it comes on I will quickly tune into a classic rock station for 5 minutes.

Dori needs to embrace the Christmas spirit
A new list of great Christmas songs needs to be started. Anything by the Ratpack would be on my list...listened to the old records on a huge console record player, five records deep, when Mom, doing most of the work, helped us put up put up our Christmas tree while growing up. Great memories. Enough with the BAD! This is the season of giving and joy! Come on Dori...stop being so negative!

Opinions are like a-holes... everyone has one...
And that especially applies to music.

It's all about personal taste... you may like a song... but I hate it... or vice versa.

These types of "lists" (aka "worst" songs) are so subjective in nature and speak to a small segment.

I happen to like songs like Streisand's jingle bells and McCartney's Simply... to each their own.

I have to say the least tollerable, at least to hear on repeat is "Baby It's Cold Outside." As bad as Babs butchered "Jingle Bells," at least it was only her botching of it... There's at least 100 different, yet equally hacky versions of "Baby It's Cold Outside" each one sucking slightly more than the last.
