My friends Mac Strong and Craig Terrill were part of the most successful Seahawks season ever that culminated in a Super Bowl appearance – but we all agree this year’s team may be the most special ever.

Nothing was going right for the Seahawks Sunday. The defense uncharacteristically gave up 90 and 80 yard touchdown drives. The offensive line – with three backups forced into service – weren’t able to stop the force of nature that is JJ Watt and the Houston defense.

With eight minutes remaining, the Seahawks trailed 20-6 in a hostile atmosphere.

And then the impossible happened.

The legacy of Russell Wilson took a huge leap forward when he used his feet to will the Seahawks to a TD that made it 20-13.

And then Richard Sherman made the pick-six interception that tied the game.

The defense held the Texans scoreless for the final 41:42 of the game – and the Seahawks turned in one of the most improbable comeback victories in team history.

So now the Seahawks are 4-0 for the first time in franchise history. They face another battle next Sunday in Indianapolis against the red-hot Colts. But, at this point, are there any doubters about this team?

We’ve had moments like this before in Seattle: The 1979 Sonics… the 1995 Mariners… but they don’t come along very often. The best team in the NFL is right here in Seattle. Enjoy the ride. This is feeling like a special season.
