Gov. Jay Inslee and Dori Monson to have conversation about transportation tax

Taken from Friday's edition of The Dori Monson Show.

I knew this day would come where our show reached a level of popularity and power where people just couldn't ignore us, no matter how desperately they tried.

On Thursday, I was calling out local officials because we found out on the 520 Bridge project they've already blown through their $250 million contingency fund, and now they are an additional $170 million over budget, and there's so much still to do.

And then Big Bertha, after being delayed for a month for a labor dispute, now she has been stuck for a month and half because she hit a pipe that the DOT put in the ground.

Every major project is a debacle.

Meanwhile, on Monday the new legislative session starts, and the big push is going to be for a multi-billion dollar transportation tax increase that they're going to come to us and ask us to vote for.

My answer is no.

If you have a contractor who screws you over when you build a house, you don't hire them to build the next house.

We cannot give billions of dollars to the Washington State Department of Transportation. That's my position and everybody knows that's my position.

The person who is pushing hard for that transportation tax is Governor Jay Inslee.

Well, I can now tell you Governor Jay Inslee has agreed to join me Monday afternoon on the show to try to challenge my position.

Don't miss the big show. Monday at noon, tune in to hear Governor Jay Inslee on The Dori Monson Show.
