Why is WSDOT tweeting about breakfast during Wednesday’s horrible commute?

While the people of the Puget Sound region were sitting in hour-long traffic delays, sitting in a nightmarish commute, the WSDOT was tweeting out that they have old cupcakes and they’re going to eat them anyway.
Really? You have this much free time? I’ll tell you something. I walked in the office today – I didn’t have one free second between when I got here and showtime…I didn’t have time to tweet about cupcakes.
Again, this is on one of the worst traffic mornings of the year, so far.
Is it the weekend yet? You all deserve a break. I'm on-call this weekend, but trust that you'll keep things quiet for me.

So torn. Hungry for a bagel, but last time I went to get one, a car fire broke out. What to do, what to do. …

Oh snap! Just remembered there are cupcakes in here! How old? Don't know, don't care. Problem solved.

Monday we decompressed with 'Smores and cocoa. What'll it be today? I could go for onion rings and a milkshake.

When you hit your knees tonight, would you please pray to God that the WSDOT Twitter person was able to decompress today. And if not, then tomorrow may all their cupcakes be fresh. See if God will help us with the traffic, too, because WSDOT isn’t doing anything about that around here.
The WSDOT later tweeted:
Big thanks to our followers! We love you guys. Can't make everyone happy, but hope our info & voice connects with most of you.

.@Smokinmoken Thanks for your feedback. Twitter is just a part of our job. We do a variety of other communications work.
