The issue of gender-neutral bathrooms is killing pronouns in Seattle.

Workers of Bang salon not only don’t mind gender-neutral bathrooms, but they “tend to shy away from using pronouns,” Casey Nickole told KING 5. Gender identity has gone “past he and she.”

KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson said Seattle is becoming a “utopia.”

“Yes, no more pronouns,” he said. “There’s no more he and she, it’s just going to be pee and pee.”

On Tuesday, a Seattle City Council committee received an update on a proposal that would require all city buildings and businesses with public use single-stall bathrooms to be labeled as gender-neutral.

If approved, an estimated 254 bathrooms would be affected, according to the Seattle Office for Civil Rights. The office is not sure how many private business bathrooms would be affected, KING 5 reports.

Though he doesn’t care if there are gender-neutral bathrooms in the city, Dori said he feels bad for the businesses that will have to pay to make changes to their bathrooms. He also stands by the concerns he voiced over the cleanliness of gender-neutral bathrooms.
