Aaron Rodgers takes jab at Russell Wilson, thanks God

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers did his best Russell Wilson impersonation after handing the Seahawks a 27-17 loss on Sunday night.
During the post-game press conference, Rodgers threw a little credit to the man upstairs for the Packers’ victory that pushed the Seahawks’ record to 0-2.
“I think God was a Packer fan tonight, so he was taking care of us,” Rodgers said, with what KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson believes was a bit of a smirk.
It’s obvious that Rodgers is taking a shot at Wilson, Dori explains. His lips curl a little bit and it looks like he’s trying to keep is composure.
The subtle — maybe not so subtle — jab at Wilson follows the 2014 NFC Championship and what both quarterbacks said after the game. After a comeback by the Seahawks that sent the Packers home, a tearful Wilson said God prepared him and the team for tough situations on the field.
Later on, Rodgers went on record to say that God doesn’t care about football, though God does care about the people playing.
So, unless Rodgers has had a change of heart and now speaks to higher beings in the locker room, it’s pretty clear the 2014 MVP is having a bit of fun with an outspoken Wilson.
