On the eleventh anniversary of the September 11th attacks, KIRO Radio's Dori Monson is questioning whether a memorial to the attacks on display at the Puyallup Fair is appropriate.
"I don't know that I get having a 9/11 memorial at the Puyallup Fair. When you go to the fair it's a fun escape, right?"
Monson recently returned from a visit to the 9/11 Memorial in New York City, and insists nothing in his life has changed his perspective as much as the attacks.
But at the fair, the temporary display seems unsuitable.
"When you're at the fair, you're there to escape from reality, you're there to stuff your face and look at the little baby animals and go on rides. It seems very incongruous to me," Monson says.
The exhibit is temporarily on display through Wednesday before moving to Olympia.
