About Bill Radke
Bill is co-host of Seattle's Morning news, 5-9, on 97.3 KIRO FM. Bill is well known in the Northwest as a journalist, author, comedian, and talk show host. Radke started his career at KIRO as an intern in 1983. He recently returned home from Los Angeles.

Making a move

You may have heard that Seattle's Morning News is doing a reboot. John Curley will be your morning host, bringing his vitality and intelligence to the mornings. I'm a huge Curley fan.

Linda Thomas will leave the show to become KIRO Radio's Senior Features Reporter and Digital Journalist. She'll continue her fantastic, award-winning News Chick blog and file original web reports on parenting, politics, technology and trends - whatever captures her limitless imagination. She is a jewel in every way.

I'll be moving to another local radio station where I intend to steal all the secrets to KIRO's success: deliver the news and connect the dots through the eyes of thinkers and talkers, from the meaningful to the offbeat, bringing you what's most interesting right now.

KIRO is a Northwest treasure and I'll treasure the friendships I've made here. Thank you for listening, emailing and posting here. Oh, and to my friend Tom Tangney: Tom, I want you to know that I'm about to sleep in for a month. Jealous much?

    Ignore the haters Bill
Some people can't handle intelligent commentary. Guess you are just too NPR-ish for some. Will be watching for your reappearance on the airwaves :-) Glad you will still be in the Seattle area. I do enjoy Curley also, except for when his political mean person side comes out. Hoping he will not use the morning show to spout his selfish politics. Unless there is someone to temper it.

spot on about Bill. He does sound like he belongs on a legitimate news station like KPLU and that is where I hope he lands.

As for Curley, they can't have a co host because he just talks over everybody all the time. He is the biggest narcissist on the NW airwaves.

I for one will not be listening to him blab about his young wife or his amazing dentist anymore because I truly don't care about either one.

    Will miss you Bill
Morning drive probably just lost a listener. When Curley has subbed in before, its difficult to follow the stories because it seems he has severe ADD.

Sorry to see you go. I really appreciated the honesty and intelligence you brought every day. I hope you end up in a good job that brings fulfillment and happiness for you and your family. Thanks for getting up super early for a year and bringing us into your viewpoint.

Good riddance to the lot of you
The repeated editorializing on what's misleading titled "Seattle's Morning News," was becoming increasingly tiresome, smarmy bias—particularly the "good news, bad news, no news" segment. Honestly, even as faux journalists you should know that it isn't your place to determine what is or isn't news.

    Wow
Now a reason to listen to KIRO in the morning. Anything's gotta be better than that idiot Mitch on KJR and the 3 hour delay of Mike and Mike on KIRO-AM. And we might actually get some news that spans both sides of the political aisle.

I have liked Bill right from the start. I don't understand all the negative views here. I'm sorry to see you go Bill. I have really enjoyed listening in on my way to work every morning. It's KIRO's loss, imo.

    John Curley in the morning???
Oh my, I just do not think I can handle John Curley in the morning. Too loud and opinionated. Gonna have to find another alternative. You will be truly missed Bill.
