Scientists confirm "old person smell"

Researchers say senior citizens have a recognizable body odor that can't be fully explained by grooming, diet or mothballs. In fact, young adults can identify an elder by body odor alone. Might be glandular; it's probably evolutionary -- helping us find mates who are still fertile - because it seems to be consistent across cultures.

Now, this is no insult. In fact, the young adults who did the sniffing described samples from the oldest people as less intense and less unpleasant. It's not a bad thing ... just an old thing.
