Best word ever? Diphthong takes on gherkin

What's the best word ever? Blogger Ted McCagg has been positing his own picks for the last few months in a March Madness style competition of sorts.

Ted McCagg took words that are fun to say and squared them off against each other in brackets.

So the word isthmus plays the word nougat. Isthmus wins, which means it plays the winner of kerfuffle and kowtow.

Meanwhile, phlegm beats yokel and akimbo beats xenophobe.

And that's just the west regional.

Over on the east you've got whirligig going against scalawag and zydeco facing angina.

The final four came down to a handful of mouthfuls. Gherkin versus kerfuffle, diphthong against hornswoggle.
