TBTL WITH LUKE BURBANK

80 or Die

God bless Burbank for doing whatever he can to get a podcast to our ear holes. Driving the old Space Car through the Pacific Northwest and sharing his travels with us—cloverleaves and all. I gotta say, though, it was a total trip for me to hear him name off cities he was passing and such because I knew precisely where he was.

There’s a chance I could have raced over to the freeway and wave at him as he zoomed by. And the gas station he stopped at in Woodland? I know the exact gas station he was at. My in-laws live there so I spend a lot of time driving by said gas station. Well, I’m not driving. Albino and all.

I’m glad Luke left CrossFit. I know that pit in the stomach dread feeling. I had a job like that once. I hated going. Loathed even. This is super embarrassing, but here’s my story. I woke up one day and decided I was going to quit said job. How did I quit, you ask? I walked in, handed a note to the cashier who was working, and said, “See ya later!”

As Jerry Springer would say, “I wish I hadn’t done that.” I imagine Potato Salad Kickstarter dude may be saying that himself in the future.

New York Times columnist David Carr died on Thursday night. The guys did a great job eulogizing him and there's little praise I could add.

Harper “Buddy” Lee: You Can’t Bust Her!

I spent a blog "week off" mourning the Sea-Yuks loss but I was still listening to the show. There are so many issues it feels like time for my first USA Today/Larry King style post.

Touched “a” Verve… or “The” Verve?

On the morning of January 23rd, 2006 my phone rang while I was eating breakfast. I had a sore throat so my "hello" was weak and hoarse.
