TBTL WITH LUKE BURBANK

TBTL-A-thon Day 1: Hari Kondabolu

May 6, 2014, 1:58 PM | Updated: 2:10 pm

Hari! Hari is blowing up! Conan! Letterman! Upworthy! He’s everywhere! Check him out in the video below. He’s bright, hilarious, and seems to be a truly upstanding dude. I love when he’s on the show and getting a behind the curtain view of the comedy world.

Also, I guess I’m more like Luke’s mom than I thought. Aside from our obscenely frugal ways I, too, am of the idea that love is a choice. Of course this is also coming from a lady who had “crush of the day” syndrome in college. If a guy smiled at me I was in love. Thankfully my husband still smiles at me.

And you knew this was coming…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in imaginary radio show land. That’s right folks, it’s time to break out your wallet and donate to TBTL. If you navigated to this here blog then you most likely did so by going through the donation page. I hope before you clicked to read my awesomeness that you chose to throw a couple bucks to the show. Here’s the thing, guys. You’re already listening while you’re mixing yourself a drink or picking up a seven dollar latte or perusing through the new issue of the New Yorker. Your life sounds pretty fancy and you’re just throwing money away. Why not throw some towards your favorite award-winning podcast? Maybe your donation will allow the gents to send me a Christmas card as payment for the tens of minutes of not so hard work I do every day. I guess it’s a moot point since the former blogger odds are stacked against me that I’ll still be doing this by Fourth of July let alone Christmas.

Pitch over. Until tomorrow.

If you’re already donating monthly, email support@tbtl.net and let them know you’re going to continue being awesome so you get your designated gift of TBTL swag. And please make sure your PayPal address is current so you get your goodies.

Harper “Buddy” Lee: You Can’t Bust Her!

I spent a blog "week off" mourning the Sea-Yuks loss but I was still listening to the show. There are so many issues it feels like time for my first USA Today/Larry King style post.

Touched “a” Verve… or “The” Verve?

On the morning of January 23rd, 2006 my phone rang while I was eating breakfast. I had a sore throat so my "hello" was weak and hoarse.
