TBTL WITH LUKE BURBANK

Naked and Acoustic

We’re joined on this episode by comedian and “Totally Biased” writer Hari Kondabolu, a very funny guy who I like a lot. He gives us some behind the scenes info on Totally Biased, which will air on the FXX network when that launches in September.

Luke also clues us in on his new favorite show “Naked and Afraid.” The premiere aired while I was at a sports bar and we won some points with our waitress by requesting it be put on the TV nearest us. I’ve only seen that one episode but it’s amazing. It’s also very educational if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a naked woman on an island and the only other person there is a misogynistic creep with a machete. On a related note, don’t forget to check out Hari this weekend at The Comedy Underground.

P.S. To the woman who wrote in, if you’re not comfortable with Luke describing his bowel movements you’re listening to the wrong show. At this point I’m pretty sure the name “Too Beautiful To Live” is some sort of poop reference.

New York Times columnist David Carr died on Thursday night. The guys did a great job eulogizing him and there's little praise I could add.

Harper “Buddy” Lee: You Can’t Bust Her!

I spent a blog "week off" mourning the Sea-Yuks loss but I was still listening to the show. There are so many issues it feels like time for my first USA Today/Larry King style post.

Touched “a” Verve… or “The” Verve?

On the morning of January 23rd, 2006 my phone rang while I was eating breakfast. I had a sore throat so my "hello" was weak and hoarse.
