TBTL WITH LUKE BURBANK

The Summer of Doing That Was

Sep 18, 2012, 5:32 PM | Updated: 5:38 pm

I don’t want to kill summer four days early or anything, but as the kids head back to school and the TV schedule gets better, it’s becoming harder to pretend it’s not fall.

Sadly, that means we’re approaching the official end of TBTL’s Bing Summer of Doing. Thanks to everyone who participated in projects and sent us suggestions and almost cut off their thumbs opening bottles of Champagne. We had a blast. And we hope you did, too.

Let’s take a look back at what we you accomplished, shall we?

Carrie in Stanwood started her own vertical garden:

Ben in Edmonds upcycled his toaster and turned it into a flower pot:

Meredith foraged for food in the city of Detroit and scored big:

And then, of course, we have the WiesbadTENs – Elysia, Jen & Gary – who produced this video of their experimental Champagne Sabering:

Thanks again for taking part in this with us, guys. Let’s do it again sometime, hey?

New York Times columnist David Carr died on Thursday night. The guys did a great job eulogizing him and there's little praise I could add.

Harper “Buddy” Lee: You Can’t Bust Her!

I spent a blog "week off" mourning the Sea-Yuks loss but I was still listening to the show. There are so many issues it feels like time for my first USA Today/Larry King style post.

Touched “a” Verve… or “The” Verve?

On the morning of January 23rd, 2006 my phone rang while I was eating breakfast. I had a sore throat so my "hello" was weak and hoarse.
