Talking Champagne Sabers and War Wounds with Chris Hayes

Luke is continuing his whirlwind media blitz appearing on both "Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me" and "Up With Chris Hayes," so we listen back to an episode of yore. Appropriately this was a conversation with Chris Hayes from last summer where Luke tells Chris to go F himself for all his success. It's a fascinating conversation with an incredibly intelligent and ambitious man.

When I hear an old episode I like to think about where I was the first time I heard it. When this conversation initially aired I had just moved from Seattle to LA and was staying at my girlfriend's brother's apartment in the valley. I listened to it as I took the subway to Los Feliz (where I now live) on my way to meet somebody who is now my friend and neighbor. Yes, there is a subway in Los Angeles and yes, it is disgusting. It still gets you out of the valley and that's the important part.

Listen back here and make sure you hear Luke on "Wait Wait" and watch him on "Up" this weekend.

    Thanks for blogging!
Thanks for the updates Jake! I found myself chuckling at Luke's description of his trip to the Pho restaurant and "slow carbing." I also wanted to tell him, "The juice diet, Luke. Your success comes with the juice diet." Also what do you think of a campaign to bring a live TBTL to Southern California? My hus-ten (the hus sound is pronounced like husband) and I would certainly be there.

    wow, there are blog posts!?
I am surprised. Maybe I wasn't listening closely enough (likely) but I don't remember it being announced that there would be posts. I've been listening for a long time and missed days are very rare. I have to admit it does make me *worry* about whether something is bad is happening to the show. I'm not complaining but you'd tell us if you were getting too stressed out to keep this wonderful podcast alive, right Luke? :(
