Bear Grylls apparently isn't big enough of a celebrity for the New York Times. If I remember correctly he was pretty big for five minutes 6 years ago before this video came out. But I guess that doesn't qualify him for the honor of the first pitch, an honor once only given to people like the so-called "President of the United States" once or twice a season.
More importantly, Luke and Andrew talk more about how much they hate Arrested Development. I don't think any of us who have enjoyed the show so far are trying to justify the new season taking so long to get going. We just didn't suffer as much as they did through those first few episodes. It is without a doubt much less amazing than the first two or three seasons, but most of these people were starring in television shows or movies when this was being made. The cast became famous 10 years ago when this show started, and so it's a little harder to lock that down. It also went six years between production, so I knew that this was going to be less like a new season of Arrested Development and more of it's own separate thing. A thing that's not perfect but still pretty good.
