TBTL WITH LUKE BURBANK

No Means No

Sorry about being quiet last week, folks. Sometimes life gets in the way of my favorite podcast. I did, however, catch up on last week’s shows as well as listened to a couple episodes of the Nerd Out Loud podcast and the Takedown podcast—both of which are done by fellow tens—while I cleaned my entire apartment today. I’ll be holding a vigil tomorrow afternoon for all the dust bunnies that lost their lives today in the Battle of How Did It Get This Dirty?

I did come back to an amazing show though! Monday night the guys were on their game. And I’m not just saying that because I’m contractually obligated. The first 20 minutes made me laugh so much and it was much needed after the war I waged today. I won’t go into details as I don’t wanna spoil the fun for you, but let’s just say Luke’s not walking too great and he’s got a new way to order from a drive-thru. That Burbank…

One thing I will get in to because it’s kind of rare is a disagreement I have with something Andrew said. He was talking about Steve Almond and how Almond has chosen to stop watching pro football because of all the negativity it’s caused. Andrew made a point that when things need to change, we shouldn’t just walk away from it, but rather make some noise and fight for changes to be made. I understand Andrew’s point, but I do think there’s an argument to be made that if enough people stop watching pro football until changes occur, that could send a very loud message. Not nearly as loud as Luke with his new toy, but loud enough.

I still love Andrew. Don’t send me hate mail. And don’t worry about sending corrections to Luke. He can handle it. And if he can’t, well, how’s your podcast going?

New York Times columnist David Carr died on Thursday night. The guys did a great job eulogizing him and there's little praise I could add.

Harper “Buddy” Lee: You Can’t Bust Her!

I spent a blog "week off" mourning the Sea-Yuks loss but I was still listening to the show. There are so many issues it feels like time for my first USA Today/Larry King style post.

Touched “a” Verve… or “The” Verve?

On the morning of January 23rd, 2006 my phone rang while I was eating breakfast. I had a sore throat so my "hello" was weak and hoarse.
