Penguins in sweaters (do you need to know more?)

Recently knitters around the world responded to a call to help penguins who were affected by an oil spill.

penguins

Just sit and allow your heart to be warmed. No penguin was left sweaterless.

I want to go to there.
Both of those penguins are looking hipper than I come wintertimes.

    Penguins
Ah, memories! Did anyone else have a Penguin as a High School mascot? Or was it just me?

    Awww...
Reminds me of how my mom sometimes knits for homeless shelters. One day, she was driving down the street, and she actually saw someone wearing one of the hats that she donated. I'm guessing we won't see these little guys sporting their "jumpers" in the wild, though. Thanks for the heartwarmer, Jen!

    New Zealand Penguins
They are so adorable. It is sad that a tanker had to spill oil all over the coast of New Zealand, though (that's why these little guys are wearing sweaters...to prevent them from preening and ingesting oil). I do love that there has been an international effort by the knitting community to make sure they are all protected.

This cheered my sad co-worker up today
She was feeling down so I showed her these pics and THEN followed it up with the penguin who can't stop laughing. She gave me a big hug and said "thank you so much!" Yay penguins in sweaters!!!!

This may be the cutest picture I've ever seen.
I thought I could not possibly love penguins any more than I already did--and then I saw penguins in sweaters.
