Recently knitters around the world responded to a call to help penguins who were affected by an oil spill.
Just sit and allow your heart to be warmed. No penguin was left sweaterless.

Reminds me of how my mom sometimes knits for homeless shelters. One day, she was driving down the street, and she actually saw someone wearing one of the hats that she donated. I'm guessing we won't see these little guys sporting their "jumpers" in the wild, though. Thanks for the heartwarmer, Jen!
They are so adorable. It is sad that a tanker had to spill oil all over the coast of New Zealand, though (that's why these little guys are wearing sweaters...to prevent them from preening and ingesting oil). I do love that there has been an international effort by the knitting community to make sure they are all protected.
She was feeling down so I showed her these pics and THEN followed it up with the penguin who can't stop laughing. She gave me a big hug and said "thank you so much!"
Yay penguins in sweaters!!!!
