It's the 2011 Sweetberry Wine Tasting!

Gather up some tens, some friends, maybe even some family and conduct your own blind taste test to help us choose our official Holiday Wine.

These are the 3 bottles you will need, widely available in grocery stores around the country and maybe even the world. (From the vineyards of our beloved sponsor, Chateau Ste. Michelle.)

*Syrah - 2008 Columbia Valley

*Merlot - 2009 CSM Indian Wells

*Cabernet - 2008 Columbia Valley

You have until November 15th to email me (jen@tbtl.net) your winning wine and how many people voted.

I found that exact Merlot at Costco a week ago.

Leave it to TBTL to come up with the most awesome and least intimidating wine tasting ever where the only question is "which one do you like best?" - I'm totally down for sure.

We should have a group of tens ...
Jen - where is the invite for the TBTL-sanctioned taste test? For us tens in Seattle, I think a little get-together to taste the libations is needed. Perhaps at CSM, itself?

    Long Beach, CA tens?
I haven't found a one person in ol' Strong Beach that listens to TBTL. Are there any out there that want to do a tasting?

    I feel happy of myself!
Parky, ando, email me! kaitlin[dot]m[dot]parker[at]gmail.com. I'm having a lil' gathering with friends this Saturday, so maybe we could fold this in. And I as much as I love sweet berry wine, I also live walking distance from a bar where you can get a pint of PBR, a shot of tequila and 2 tacos for $4. Just sayin...

    Yes, indeed.
Totes - I was looking at Barolo's wine list, and they carry most of these wines (although, not of the correct vintage, but that should be okay). Perhaps a very happy happy hour there - since we all know it's Jen's favorite ... :)

    Only reds???
I do like the Indian Wells Cab, but why only reds???? My favorite CSM is the Gewurtztraminer, and the Riesling (which goes great with Christmas desserts) is WIDELY available...even at my local CVS. I'm down with just reds, but it would be great to add the whites to the list.

    Just curious, sanjosebarbie...
Do you pronounce "Gewurtztraminer" the way Sean DeTore does, with authority....i.e., as if you went to Nazi youth camp during your formative years?

    Guh-vurtz-tra-MEAN-er
Sort of, esdoc. He sometimes pronounces the i sound as though it is "eye." It's actually "ee." Other than that, yeah, I speak German and it can sound pretty white power. Sean does it FAIRLY well (sometimes), and totally wrong at others, but he definitely always does it with authority.

    San Francisc10's and NorCal 10's
Hey dudes and chicas, We are planning a winetasting. Please visit the NorCal 10's Facebook page for details. I guarantee you that, even if we are only "officially" tasting reds, there will be whites there too.

    DC Tens Wine Tasting?
Is anyone putting a tasting together for the DC area? I moved here this year and would love to get to know some fellow tens and this looks like a great way to do it! I didn't see a facebook page dedicated to my new town tens, but I feel like I've heard of lots of DC ten mentions on the show.

    Got 'em!
The Stanwood Tens just purchased all three of the wines at the local Haggen, and we will be happily taste-testing them on Friday, along with our just-brewed Tired and Emotion-Ale! Good thing we built a bar in our garage for just such an occasion!

I like the Barolo idea, KaydieBee! Should we go plan it on the Facebook page?

    Absolutely!
ozmafan - let's do it! I'll hit up the page and we can work out the deets. I'll also give Barolo a call today and see what they can do for us :)
