Today, Your Least Favorite Guest Ever Returns, Neil Hamburger!

tbtl

Last year we had "America's Funny Man" Neil Hamburger on the show. Most of you did not enjoy it. Your reaction in the comment section was swift, merciless, and overwhelmingly critical. So...... since Neil was back in town this week we figured we'd ask him back to read him your angry comments and get his reaction.

I solved my dislike for Hamburger
...by listening to about 4 minutes of it, realizing it was not going to be my scene, turning it off, and listening again to Will Wheaton for a palate cleanser. Problem solved.

    post-Kaufman, extra-conceptual comedy...
I get it, but then I asked myself, "did I laugh?" Answer: "no." I think Neil Hamburger is like the movie idea you hear that just sounds amazing, but once the actual execution occurs...not so much. The ultimate insult...he's ho hum...not horrible...not very funny...a footnote to greater concept comedians who have come before.

You need to put Mr. Hamburger in a the right frame.
I imagine him as a character in a Tom Waits song. Then I laugh my buttocks off.

    Science of comedy
Jerry Seinfeld has analyzed comedy to the point where it is almost a science. I lost my train of thought.
