The Summer of Doing That Was

I don't want to kill summer four days early or anything, but as the kids head back to school and the TV schedule gets better, it's becoming harder to pretend it's not fall.

Sadly, that means we're approaching the official end of TBTL's Bing Summer of Doing. Thanks to everyone who participated in projects and sent us suggestions and almost cut off their thumbs opening bottles of Champagne. We had a blast. And we hope you did, too.

Let's take a look back at what we you accomplished, shall we?

Carrie in Stanwood started her own vertical garden:

Vertical Gardening

Ben in Edmonds upcycled his toaster and turned it into a flower pot:

Meredith foraged for food in the city of Detroit and scored big:

And then, of course, we have the WiesbadTENs - Elysia, Jen & Gary - who produced this video of their experimental Champagne Sabering:

Thanks again for taking part in this with us, guys. Let's do it again sometime, hey?

    Thanks for posting Andrew!
@Ben, I cannot believe I just threw away our broken toaster! @Meredith, is that a lemon? An avocado? A Guava? @Carrie, how are the plants doing? @WiesbadTENs, I have the Champagne, now need a saber ASAP!

My last comment got eaten, I think. Heh, Detroit guavas. It was a crabapple and I made a pie! More pics here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100744676279785.2636909.22400671&type=3&l=7d0cdeedc5

    Vertical Garden...
You'll be happy to know that I am right this moment making some pasta sauce using tomatoes, basil, oregano, garlic, and rosemary from the very garden pictured above (the garden has much flourished since that picture. You can't even read the sign now). Also, there is LITERALLY a watermelon growing in it, which, someday, we may carry with us to sneak into the awesome after-hours dancing party at a family Summer camp in the Catskills.
