Thank you to Rhonda in Longview for sending this my way.
She spotted a KHQ TV story about artist Dana Bellefeuille who is trying to brighten the lives of children battling cancer with her gift.
She creates intricate crowns on the shaved heads of cancer patients using the dye paste Hena.
“So excited to be able to give people Hena crowns. To gift art, and its wearable art, to somebody who is going through the hardest days of their lives, to be able to bring a little bit of joy, it’s very important,” Dana said.
KHQ was there as Dana created a crown of hearts and butterflies for 7-year-old Alex, who is battling Leukemia.
Dana says it’s a healing art. I’d say that’s a true statement based on the smile from Alex as she sees her new crown.
