TCTI: Too Crazy Too Ignore

All in the name of God

In Pakistan Tuesday a 14 year old girl was the target of assassins. 14 year old Malala Yousafzai was shot, and critically wounded.

What made her such a political threat?

"I want to get my education and I want to become a doctor," she said in an interview.

Three years ago at age 11, she appeared in a New York Times documentary about the Taliban's decision to close all the girls schools in Pakistan's Swat valley, including the one run by her father, Zahudin.

"This is my duty and if I die for it I think there would be no chance for me to die bigger than this," he said.

And his daughter was worried about the day the gunmen would come.

"Sometime I think that I will hide in the bathroom and I will call the police and they will save my father," she said.

The police would save her father. But Tuesday, she was target - on her way home from school, in broad daylight, only a few yards away from a military checkpoint. Some men stopped her van, asked which one is Malala, and someone pointed her out.

The Taliban claimed responsibility, "Targeted for her anti-Taliban views," the statement said. Yes, all in the name of God, demonstrating his infinite love at gunpoint.

Malala and her father will win eventually. History is on their side. Societies that enforce ignorance doom themselves. But not today. Today the Daily Beast quotes Malala's friend Aisha -- the last person to talk to her -- who says now she will have to quit school. Because to be an educated woman is too dangerous.

Dude, do you really think it's acceptable that Women in many of those Islamic nations regard Women lesser beings than dogs or goats? Your Hippy 1960's stupidity refuses to acknowledge the HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS and INJUSTICE towards Women and Children under the guise of "America is the enemy" rhetoric. You pretty much expose yourself as the true hypocrite you really are by claiming to be a "LIberal" while condoning atrocity committed on Woman in these Muslim Countries. You do know a Woman can be stoned to DEATH in Saudi Arabia for driving a car? You are nothing but Hypocrite Liberal Hippy!

OK lets agree those Muslims are "Barbarians" but what words do you use to describe people who claim to be civilized (not Barbarians) who blow people into pieces with high explosive bombs dropped from the sky,or how would you describe US soldiers who slaughter innocent men ,women and children? Oh by the way please point out where I EXCUSED any crimes against women and humanity?FISH your basically a low IQ idiot who when having no argument needs to fabricate LIES to make a point.

No its not acceptable to me but its their country and their customs. How do you equate sending 100s of 1000s of soldiers to drop bombs,to rape kill and mutilate the local citizens of a primitive country as anything but "HUMAN RIGHT VIOLATIONS AND INJUSTICE"? Don't we have enough battered women people NOT being treated fairly in our own country?People in North Korea are treated as SLAVES do you want to put them on the list of the next nation we involve ourselves with? How about the sweat shops many Chinese workers are employed at where they work 7 days a week 12 hours a day for a dollar or two,why not go after that?We could end it without violence if we simply stopped buying their goods

The intolerant bigots are usually fast to post on this sort of topic and you didn't disappoint.

So exactly how is Obama's bombing to kill a million muslims somehow representative of Christianity...the right keeps pointing out that Obama isn't even a Christian...sorry, the "murder" currently going on is perpetrated by progressives.

Your once again asleep at the switch,if you don't believe that the war in Afghanistan has a religious element then you are totally naive.the USA wants the world to dance to the music that our Christian Nation plays if you resist we invade. You point to the progressives but make no mention of the NEOCONs who started in Iraq and then invaded Afghanistan. They left Obama to play with the hand that was dealt to him.His build up in Afghanistan DID accomplish his purpose which was the killing of Bin Laden and the killing of many of the leaders of Al Qaeda

Dave - sad as this story is, what is the point YOU are making?
Anyone not in a coma for the past 15 years already knows the Taliban is nothing but a gang of thugs maiming and murdering somehow in the name of God. ... Unfortunately, Malala is not the first, nor will she be the last, girl, woman (or free thinking man) injured or killed by the Taliban.

Dave - your headline reads "All in the name of God". But isn't the god of the Taliban (at least in name) the SAME God Malala and her father would pray to 5 times each day? And do Malala and father not read the Koran for enlightenment? ........... And God, if He takes sides at all in Pakistan or Afghanistan, is on the side of freedom and enlightenment.

That's Malala and her friends and father.

That's not those who defile the name of God in the name of god.

Strange as it might seem, wisdom comes from George Burns as God in 'Oh, God'.

There is nothing wrong with the words of God, expressed differently by the religions of the world. But still the same messages of love and peace. ........... It's the PEOPLE who screw it all up.

The true religion is that that lives its message without change for man's bent.

    Careful there, Ron
You can acquire a lot of enemies very quickly around here by suggesting that the words of God are expressed differently by the various religions of the world.

As any regular reader of this forum has had multiple opportunities to learn, the fundamental goal of Islam is to exterminate all the Christians and Jews on the planet. Muslims who aren't actively killing or bombing innocent women and children are cheering enthusiastically, or at least apologizing for those who do. So say a bunch of the regulars here 'bouts.

No quick example comes to mind of any religion that has not been perverted by some subset of sickos to commit murder and mayhem in the "Name of God". We Christians were going about this long before Islam was founded, and we have far-too-recent examples of religious atrocities in Bosnia and Northern Ireland.

Terrorism in the name of *any* religion should be condemned, in my opinion. Not just terrorism in the name of the "other guys" faith.

CG - there are no religions that have not been perverted many times.
It seems to be one of the baser tenants of humanity to make evil of something good. But that's the fault of the perverters, not the message of God. ..... No more that infanticide makes parenting evil.

And if you go all the way back, BOTH Cain and Abel were trying to please God.

For Gene: in case you are interested....
Just like "Dios" is the name of God in Spanish, "Allah" is the name of God in Arabic. When Arabic Christens pray, they use "Allah" in the same way that English speaking Christians use the word "God" or Spanish speaking Christians use the word "Dios".

Muslims don't agree with Christians and Jews about the nature of God anymore than Christians and Jews agree with one another; but they are strict monotheists. Muslims, Jews, and Christians agree there is only one God; but each faith has a different, fallible, human understanding or interpretation of that God.

What a shame. I was expecting a long screed about how the only true name of God, in any lanquage is "God". Followed up of course with an explanation that "Dios" is a "moon diety", or something along that line.

If I have reduced to you name calling, even in Spanish, I'll consider that an argument won. :-)

I NEVER said the video was responsible for ANYTHING.In fact the incident is currently under investigation by our FBI.So you have no clue what actually happened either.Lets look at those killings from another perspective if the video stirred up a group to demonstrate against the showing of it on the internet and another group used that demonstration as a cover to assasinate the Ambassador then wouldn't some responsibility be put on the makers of the video (after all they lit the match)

There were no protests in Benghazi. The streets were quiet 30 minutes before the attack. There was terrorist chatter that an attack was coming for weeks beforehand. The State Department had near real-time video access to the entire event. They knew all along that this was a preplanned terrorist attack. And yet they have, and continue to lie about this in the Whitehouse.

So what is gained by the WH lying about it?Should our Ambassador have had 2 security people or 200? And would 200 have prevented his death? So my point is why would the WH lie about what happened?Whats to be gained. My understanding is that US security experts evaluate the protection given foreign Embassy people But of course improvements in security cost money and a GOP Congress has severely cut back on the availability of these funds.
