TCTI: Too Crazy Too Ignore

How many stars are on the flag?

I know you're annoyed by all the calls and the ads, but do you realize what it's like in Ohio, where voting has already started?

They have voting patrols.

"Anyone need to vote? Anyone need to vote?" shouted the head of the local Democratic party, cruising the streets of Youngstown, Ohio offering to drive people to the polls.

The Romney people are busy too.

"Sometime this week, we will have eclipsed our 6 millionth voter contact," said campaign director Scott Jennings.

Six million is more than half the population of Ohio. Probably annoying to Ohioans, but the rest of us are feeling a little left out. Barack Obama has been to Ohio 22 times. He woos her like a lover.

"I need you Ohio," Obama has said. "America needs you Ohio."

Poor Michelle. Mitt Romney he's been there 35 times, seventeen times in the last 30 days.

"We need to make sure that Ohio is able to send a message loud and clear," said Romney.

And you know why this happens? Because Ohioans are smarter than the rest of us. When the pollsters call up Ohioans and ask, "Who you gonna vote for?" Ohioans say "I dunno." "No idea. Gotta mull it over." "I'm undecided."

And as a result:

"This election is not about me. It's not about the Republican party," said Romney.

It's about Ohio.

In fact, it may be about Tuscarawas County, which is officially a swing county. In fact, it may be about this woman, Laurie Chapman who was interviewed in Tuscarawas County.

"I always vote. I never miss a chance to vote. But I'm going to go out and vote especially this year because I want my vote to count," said Chapman.

Don't worry, Laurie, your vote will count. It's the rest of us I wonder about.

Maybe there are two states in America. New Hampshire nominates the people Ohio elects. The rest of us can go suck it.

But, Dave. How would they do voting patrols with all mail in ballots?
Would the state democratic party be checking your outgoing mail every day?

Yes, Dave. I've got relatives in Ohio. That 6 millionth voter contact was PER PERSON. Seems like overkill, but both sides believe the universe revolves around Columbus. And for once it's not the Ohio State Buckeyes.

But a word this Laurie Chapman. If you REALLY want your vote to count, just move to Chicago - of King County - and your vote will be counter as many times as needed.

Don't forget Pierce and Snohomish counties go blue too! (Inslee didn't come from King county.)

Yes, you do win the cigar ...........BUT
Pierce and Snohomish don't have any recent history of 'finding' bags and boxes of uncounted ballots.

BTW: Snohomish, and especially Pierce, may not be as blue as you think. We shall see in 11 days.

Use the popular vote only would fix this.
Might cause different problems but everyones vote would count the same.

Well, we've trashed the constitution to hell and back anyway. Who cares that we are a Republic, not a democracy. Let's have MOB rule. 51% tell you to do it, by heck, that's just tough 49%. The electoral college is not perfect, but it's the best way to preserve STATE'S rights. States are sovereign remember. This isn't the united people of the federal government. It is the united STATES of America. We are inching closer to the states having no power and the federal government having all the power. Trust me people, this is not what you want your future to look like. This is nothing what was intended. It was never intended for the federal government to be how it is today. The founding fathers realize the pitfall that it would become if the federal government was to amass too much power. We've already hit that tipping point but for craps sake, lets at least try and fight for our republic.

The problem with to much power at the federal level and not enough at the state level is when a state gets to be too oppressive. Where do the refugees go. And if we go one world government we potentially could be in big trouble.

    HLC is wrong
By going to popular vote only California, Texas and New York/New England would matter. As far as Ohio being the "star" that's only because it hasn't turned stupid and blue like the north east and west coast.

And you know why this happens?
Yup...Ohio doesn't have as high a concentration of democrats so they are relevant.

Good job Dave...you've hit the nail on the head of the problem with WA state...too many democrats.

Solution....send a bunch back to CA.

    Here's an idea
Instead of "playing dumb" why don't we "Be Smart" and challenge the, with well thought out questions and comments that are based on reality. Wouldn't that just scare the heck out of them?
