Well that didn't take as long as we thought

Election night certainly didn't go as some of our most beloved pundits predicted.

"My intellectual analysis of this, factoring everything I see, plus the polling data, not even close, 300 plus electoral votes for Romney," said Rush Limbaugh.

"My personal guess is you'll see a Romney landslide, 300 electoral votes plus, and we may come very close to capturing control of the Senate in that context," said Newt Gingrich.

Of course Rush and Newt weren't troubling themselves with actual analysis. But even Karl Rove, who does do actual analysis, talks about charging into battle without body armor! He goes on Fox and challenges his own network's call.

"No, I don't," he said.

Megyn Kelly goes into the back room to check with the numbers guys, who say, 'no, there's no mistake,' but Rove remembers Florida in 2000.

"We've got to be careful about calling things when we have like 991 votes separating the two candidates and a quarter of the vote left to count," said Rove.

But as it turns out, Fox's numbers guys were right, and the New York Times numbers guy Nate Silver was right, and that's scary.

Numbers guys are young and smart, and they may be accurate, but they are inherently boring -- and if this spells the end of uninformed cheerleader commentary; if pom-pom punditry is dead -- there's gonna be a lot of time to fill.

I guess we can still fight over what's the real America -- Norman Rockwell's America, or the America that re-elected Barack Obama. Except with the popular vote being pretty much tied, it turns out that the new real America must be just as real as the old real America.

    That Republicans and Democrats... all of them, realize that this country is bigger than either of them. Nobody is more Important than this Nation, this country that I signed up to defend and put my life on the line for. There is a lot to live up to, the price that was paid for this Country is VERY HIGH, I've seen it first hand. These parties need to understand that, they have been elected to perform a JOB... a sacred duty that was entrusted to them. If they cannot understand that then we need new parties not just new leaders. I have always and will always believe this country is it's people, not it's politics, i'd rather help my neighbor in strife than any politician trying to get elected. We're bigger than Politics, we should be anyways, and we only serve to discredit the sacrifices made by our Men and women who have paid for this Country with their lives when we act like 1 politician or another is More important than everything we have built together over the last 236 years....

    Americans Voted with their voice they chose their President, it is the will of the people, not some crackpot conspiracy you cooked up, not some crazy scheme that Faux news came up with... The votes of every American that chose to exercise their right to vote decided that President Obama was the better man for the job. Nothing your Faux news or your crackpot conspiracy theorists can do to change that. Now i'm telling you, If you want to sit there and pout for the next 4 years, acting as if the louder you are or the more insanity you put in your posts will change reality, that's on you, but the people of America have spoken and your way, is not prefferred by the Majority.     are "Americans" as well.

    You guys need to move the poles of your "big tent" outward just a bit more to include more people. To really include more people, not just a few tokens. Simply dismissing folks who don't agree with your specific philosophies as "un-American" doesn't make them not Americans- and, as you found out yesterday, it doesn't take away their right to vote.

    A Republican senator, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina recently said, "The Republican party is losing demographically. We aren't generating enough angry white men to remain in business much longer."

    So, take a good hard look at your party and make the adjustments required.

    You guys don't see it now, but this could be the best thing that has happened for the Republicans in a very long time. If you keep on doing what you have recently been doing, you will keep on getting what you just got....so, change. Tune up for 2016. Put up a better candidate. Craft a better platform.

    One one hand you call people who disagree with your point of view juvenile names and insults then you turn around and attempt to be appeasing and patronizing when you are called out! We Americans have done ALL WE CAN to work with Liberals and the Obama regime. They do not want to work with us. Now that Obama is unaccountable for the next four years and with a willing main stream media, Obama will do what he wants and it will be reported that republicans will not work with him. Just like it has been all along!

    I Have always felt like America is bigger than politics. I do call people on here stupid like you, people who sit there and shout slogans at me and the rest of the folks on here that come straight from Faux news. I don't shy away from that. I think it's important to let people know how stupid they look when they are shouting propoganda statements at people as if it's reality. As for your second statement... "we Americans" I'm sorry did you not watch the election, "We Americans" just re-elected President Obama. You are a minority that is screaming and pouting and refusing to participate in the process that out forefathers and constitution builders set in place. Obama will do what he believes is best for this Nation. Republicans also have a say in the process, they have a majority in congress, they also have 2 years to prove themselves worthy of holding those offices, so it is beneficial to all parties to work together to fix the problems facing this country. If Republicans continue to sit on the sidelines complaining about the problems instead of trying to fix them, they will be gone in 2 years anyways. At some point It's me Ha ha! you have to realize you're the problem not the solution. Hopefully all politicians will realize this. Because as much as you hate Obama, the better he does, the better you and the rest of America will do. It's time to drop it dude. You've been what's wrong with this country for 4 years and you really need to move on or just like any politician that refuses to work toward progress, you will be minimized and regarded as part of the problem.

    The system provides for a Government with checks and balances, it's one of the greatest parts of our Government. Republicans have control of the house, The President will need to work with the other side to get anything done, this is my hope, i don't want ALL Democrat policies nor do i want ALL Republican policies. Hopefully what this win will do for Obama is make him realize 2 things A. America still wants DC to change... B. Half of America thinks the other side has great ideas too. Hopefully we can see politicians forced to work together for all of us... not one side or the other... bi-partisanship.
