Now another General

The Pentagon is now investigating General John Allen, the man who took over for General David Petraeus in Afghanistan, because of what are being called "inappropriate communications."

General Allen exchanged at least 20,000 pages of emails over three years with Jill Kelley. Jill Kelley is the woman who in turn received what she considered threatening anonymous e-mails from Paula Broadwell, who apparently thought Kelley might be muscling in on her own inappropriate relationship with General David Petraeus.

And a stunned nation wonders -- how long before they are linked to Kevin Bacon.

But there's more. The FBI agent that Mrs. Kelley complained to about the threatening e-mails from Mrs Broadwell -- once sent shirtless pictures of himself to Mrs. Kelley.

He was taken off the case, but kept poking around anyway, and finally tipped off a member of Congress because of his "worldview" that there are people in the government determined to protect President Obama at all costs.

Talk about the fog of war.

What's fascinating is that the Internet is full of Paula Broadwell interviews, because she was on a book tour at about the time this affair was going on, and you hear stuff like this, from the Imus show:

"He must have liked you obviously, and you obviously liked him I guess," said Imus.

"Yeah we had a lot of rapport," said Broadwell. "I think some of that comes from a love of running, an interest in counterinsurgency warfare."

And this from deep in the CSPAN archives:

"I asked if I could interview him on the run. Needless to say I didn't transcribe that interview. It didn't really turn out. It was a bunch of heavy breathing."

Book TV -- must-see television.

Careful, Dave. Be very careful that you're not asked to take a vacation soon.
Your 'Crusaders for Common Sense' won't stand up 3 minutes if someone really wants the media to back off in this story.

But, well played for now. Keeping things to the sex aspect. Of course CBS and ABC (at least on radio) do want to know more. So you COULD push a little more if you want to. .......... Who knows. You're getting a bit long in the tooth. But You've never gotten a Pulitzer, have you ???

what really surprised me about getting older and making more money is how much more receptive young attractive women with you.
It is a bit unfair yes to a long married wife who has aged, become bored with you and you with her and then have a hot, vibrant woman who wouldn't pay that much attention to you when you are young all of a sudden think you now a "catch". Yes it's about money but at middle age this doesn't seem to matter to the man. Male -female are kinda fouled up this way. Men when their young look better are more virle but have no money and most hot babes pass. Then when middle aged, with money, the babes will approach the middle aged man. Yes, it's wrong but man is it intoxicating!Beautiful and young is a force thats impossible to fight off.

You've got to admit those two generals don't exactly look like a couple of hunks. Rode hard and put away wet.

    Ah, the dilemma
There's smoke pouring out of a lot of ears around the country. Folks rubbing both brain cells together to try to find some way to blame *this* aspect of the military on Obama without simultaneously admitting that he has had anything to do with winding down wars in the middle east or killing Osama bin Ladin.

It's a shame, but no surprise, to learn that human weaknesses and ego drive people at a more fundamental level than either duty or national security.

Chuck, a few weeks ago YOU wereblaming Obama, but....
I guess you must have bee satisfied enough that he was just ignorant of events. .. Bad enough in itself, but ............ Remember the initial press response to Watergate?

And, yes, he 'got'. bin Laden. But is that a free pass - forever?

Ron, Try as I might, I can't find any reasonable way to blame this
on Obama. If you've got some scenario whereby the POTUS is responsible for the clandestine sexual affairs of his top generals, I would love to hear it.

No, getting bin Ladin does not give him a free pass forever. Credit where credit is due, but not where it isn't.

And YOU don't get it that the sex aspect is immaterial.
It's merely convenient to take Petraeus out of his job and improve the report. True lies.

But if a sex scandal is what it takes to INTEREST THE PRESS, SO BE IT.

So, Ron, your version of reality is.....
Several years ago the conspirators sent Ms Broadwell out to seduce Petraeus, just in case the US consular outpost in Benghazi might be attacked on 9-11-2012 and it became necessary to remove him from his position of authority in order to assist a presidential coverup? Didn't the relationship (not saying the affair) actually begin before Obama was president?

Whoever those conspirators are, we need to track them down and put them to work on the most serious problems facing the country. If they can see that far into the future with such amazing accuracy, that's the sort of talent we need to employ. :-)

Lets let Diane Feinstein work on this, shall we?
Unless she has somehow become a RWNJ.

Come on, Chuck. You're smarter than that. The sex aspect, AGAIN, Again, Again, is immaterial. Except that it makes it convenient to get Petraeus out of the may.

If you're going to speculate on my theories, at least READ MY WORDS.

    All of them.

When all is known about Osama we will wonder why Obozo sat on him for so long.
This wasn't a spur of the moment decision on his part. Enough military pressure got put on him to finally move on it.

The American (voting) people deserve EXACTLY who the elect.
You think the last four years were not so good? Wait until you see what you voted back into office. Remember, Watergate wasn't about the crime--it was about the cover up. Take your seat--the (very unfortunate) show is about to start.
