TCTI: Too Crazy Too Ignore

In this photo released by the White House, President Barack Obama shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David, Md., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. The White House released a photo of Obama firing a gun, two days before he heads to Minnesota to discuss gun control. In a recent interview with The New Republic magazine, Obama said yes when asked if he has ever fired a gun. He said "we do skeet shooting all the time," except for his daughters, at Camp David. Well it turns out the release of that snapshot of the President skeet shooting at Camp David still has not satisfied the Skeeters - and some websites are even implying the picture is a fake because other shots of the president that same day show him wearing different clothes.

What he needs to do is what CNN's Piers Morgan did. Piers went down to a Texas gun range, picked up an AR-15 and after about a sixty-second lesson from an instructor he was firing at a rate of about 200 rounds a minute.

That's a legal weapon you could buy this afternoon at Walmart. And with the number of home owners buying them now, I have to think that crime will disappear probably by this weekend. I know criminals are stupid, but how profoundly stupid would you have to be to go up against a homeowner with one of these?

Although as his instructor explained, it's not just about protection from criminals.

"The military and the United Nations are going to come in and take our guns," said the instructor.

"Do you think the American military would attack its own people?" asked Piers.

"If it's forced to - I don't know. I hope not. I hope that would not happen, but I would think at least 40 or 50 percent would," the instructor replied.

Americans need weapons powerful enough to kill U.S. soldiers if need be.

Which is why the skeet picture has done nothing for the President's gun cred. Skeet shooting is about bird hunting. To get REAL gun cred, the President would have to squeeze off 200-round bursts from his AR-15 and then explain he's just getting prepared in case the Secret Service turns on him.

Can i ask conservatives here a legit question?
Why are you so intent on creating conspiracy theories about the President? You understand that this is why the center and even the slightly left of center have walked away from you? Your extreme conclusions come off as completely crazy... For every conspiracy theory you create that is easily proven incorrect, you lose credibility, suddenly folks don't take you seriously anymore... Now I certainly disagree with new gun laws, i'm completely with you on this, i think the 2nd amendment needs to be protected, but there's no need to sit here and question whether or not the President is a skeet shooter, it doesn't matter, it doesn't further your cause to protect the second amendment it just makes you look crazy and people in the center do not want to associate with crazies... you lost the election because you couldn't tone down your rhetoric, because you were absolutely seen as crazy.. you're pulling way too far right... so far right the center can't see you anymore.. back it up... stick to the facts you can prove, it goes so much further to help your cause, believe me i have supported Obama on topics, i've supported republicans on topics, both have valid ideas that can help this country but you have to be willing to meet in the middle sometimes and you can't call everything the President does a conspiracy, it just makes people think you're fanatical or crazy.

Conservatives haven't called it a conspiracy...
the leftist apologists like Dave Ross have called it a conspiracy alleged by those on the right as an attempt to marginalize and belittle conservatives. Conservatives have simply laughed at this preposterous claim ("all the time"). It's a big time exaggeration and pandering, like when Romney claimed he was unemployed. While it was technically true, it was viewed with a lot of scorn by those on the left just as this is getting equal treatment from those on the right. Frankly, the left would gain a little credibility if they weren't so reflexively defensive and had some fun with it. This is not a big deal. Does that photo depict someone who goes skeet shooting "all the time" - do you really believe that - or does it depict someone that doesn't look very comfortable with a weapon in his hands? That's a serious question for you, Cbrew, since I seem to recall you saying that you are a gun enthusiast.

Mavila.. look at the comments, look at the response from conservatives
and don't try to deny the conspiracy theories that even higher ranking Repubs have pushed at times... lets look at the birther movement for example, literally one of your candidates for President, Donald Trump, pushed this movement along while millions of conservatives either agreed with him or simply didn't reject the idea, it sends a message to the center that the right is okay with that conspiracy theory being pushed, then you throw in the other conspiracy theories that aren't widely denounced and it gets worse, you can't even discuss the president online without someone jumping in with "he's a muslim" "he's not American" "he's got a secret agenda" etc. etc. etc. I'm not saying you specifically agree with these theories but they're detrimental to your cause, they are a powerful message to the center that this is what the Republican party believes... As long as these conspiracies keep jumping up people will look at the Republican party as the party of crazies... the party that believes in folk tales and tabloid BS... Now as I said much of what the Republican party has to offer our society can be beneficial but you can't get your message across by trying to demonize or spread rumors about somebody, it pushes people away from you... that's my point... as for your other question i'm a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and i do indeed enjoy shooting guns but never got in to Skeet shooting so i honestly can't provide any insight.. Looks to me like the president is shooting a shotgun that's about all i can say.

I thought we were talking about the Rambo story...
The left has engaged in some fantastical conspiracy theories themselves over the years, so you know what they say about glass houses...Both sides can be quite obnoxious, I will grant you that.

Mavila, I agree with you that both sides do at times engage in this....
With Bush it was the morons saying he was behind 9/11 etc... or that he cooked the election etc. it generally is started by the party that does not have power in the executive branch but lets be honest, the conspiracy theories have grown over the years and Obama has so many and for what? Most people don't believe this stuff, many people equate the people saying this stuff to a crazy guy on the street corner holding a sign... it should be rejected by the right... believe me i think it is a major stumbling block for the Republican party right now, you're not reaching the center because you're too far right.

    Well...
you do find mainstream conservatives in the media publicly rejecting claims that Obama was born in Kenya, or that he is a secret Muslim. You mentioned Trump, but he is first and foremost a huckster and attention wh*re. I have my doubts that he actually subscribes to the birther conspiracy theory beause he just doesn't sound very knowledgeable about it, frankly. By the way, Romney won the independent vote overall. Aren't they the ones in the center?

What happened to the just the news?
I thought we were just supposed to get the news without political views? We are now subject to political views from Dave and Linda. In the morning, I tune in for the news..or I did. I don't listen to the national news when my wife comes home from work because the national news is bent and one sided...KIRO has followed suit. Dave and Linda must not have graduated from a journalism school because their reporting is one sided...like the national news. Switching to KOMO or, in my disgust, Danny from the Partridge family. Better to hear crap than political motivated crap. And yes...news stories are chosen for beliefs.

You are a dutiful member of the Obama press. Nice job getting to the truth Dave! Since he hasn't told the truth about literally EVERYTHING he's doing or has done, now is a great time to believe him on this issue when he's trying to trample on our rights. Nice...

A Staged Photo Shot & Photo chopped
This is at least a couple of photos chopped together. Look at how this is lighted! A lighted Photo shoot that is staged! See how Sharp the edges are around the pot belly dork! But look how the Shotgun is blurry and his arms are perfectly sharp for a recoil. The smoke has Chromatic Aberrations and nothing else in the photo does and has the Median filter added in photoshop like the background! FAKE, FAKE, FAKE!
