Here comes the shockwave

A budget meteor - $85 billion in diameter - enters America's atmosphere in a week, and we're getting a sense of what the shockwave would look like.

"Thousands of security screeners would be furloughed. Wait times at the busiest airports could increase by up to an hour," explains a reporter.

The trouble is we've heard all this before, and we're at the part of the fable where the villagers frankly don't care if the wolf eats every last sheep.

"The Navy would shut down four of its nine carrier airways."

We get it - but what can we do about it?

Well, the Speaker of the House John Boehner, wrote a piece in the Wall Street Journal, in which he says, "Washington must get serious about its spending problem. If it can't reform America's safety net and retirement-security programs, they will no longer be there for those who rely on them."

What he's saying is, if the government wasn't on the hook to spend so much on old people and sick people, this could all be averted.

Well then! If we believe the Wall Street Journal - and I have never known it to lie - those of us who are healthy and employed, must politely, but firmly, ask those who are retired and sick to stop cashing at least SOME of their government checks.

Mom - this means you. If you find yourself short, I will write you a check myself - as I'm sure every other working American would do ...

Yikes! - she's calling already. I'll get that later.

    They demonize the working man. Demonize workers... Blaming the average working man for the downfall of the economy is absolutely rediculous... blaming those who have spent their entire lives paying into SSI and Medicare for drawing those funds when they're old enough is rediculous. Stop doing it, it's as naive as the left blaming bush for everything that's wrong with America. The problem with the economy is found directly in the Corporate offices of major businesses throughout this country... They have sold us all out... They have found a way to force out small businesses and keep the average American on a wage that leaves them living pay check to pay check... they have worked together to take away the competition in salaries, they have blamed the worker for their financial problems whenever they hit, even when it's obvious the company's themselves are to blame... The big banks that helped build the housing bubble got bailed out by the Average American tax payer then turned around and said, everybody that wants a loan now, you can suck it cuz we're not lending... we propped them up to return to business as usual instead they flipped it around and said We're not investing in the little guy anymore, it's all about big business. CEO's making millions of dollars to do nothing except sit around and spend company money meanwhile they have a massive pool of workers who were laid off in the recession... Corporate America has put this country on it's knees and the middle class are waiting for the deathblow... it's sickening, the only thing is, eventually, it'll be their heads on pikes in the ruins of this nation.
