A health care train wreck?

It was a little disconcerting for people who are already worried for the effects of health care reform.
Senator Max Baucus – a Democrat – who not only voted for health care but was a key player in designing it, was worrying aloud at a Senate hearing that the government is screwing it up:
“Small businesses have no idea what to do, what to expect. I just see a huge train wreck coming down and I don’t see any results yet.”
So being a concerned citizen, I called up my Congressman. Who happens to be Democrat Adam Smith of Washington State, also a health care supporter, just to say, what the heck!
“The implementation of the plan is going to be difficult but what Max Baucus should have said is, for tens of millions of Americans right now and for the previous three years before the Affordable Care Act, trying to get health care was a train wreck.”
So is there anything in this that is going to surprise people?
“Gosh Dave come on, of course,” said Smith.
But will people be happier than they were before?
“I’m not going to make any predictions about the relative happiness of other human beings,” said Smith. “You know we’ve got to work at it but I think this will give greater coverage to people, whereas before they were just out of luck.”
I guess that’s reassuring…
