There are just certain things in life you can count on. Ken Jennings dominating on Jeopardy is one of them.

On Thursday night, Seattle’s own Ken Jennings did just that, again.

Perhaps most impressive was his sweep of the category “Initial to Roman Numerals to Numbers.” The clue led to a famous name whose initial you had to translate into a roman numeral and then give the number it represents.

Jeopardy host Alex Trebek: For the TV late-night host who in April 2014 announced he’d be retiring.

Jennings: What is 550? (David Letterman)

Trebek: For the naturalist who expressed his theory of evolution in “The Expression of the Emotion in Man and Animals.”

Jennings: What is 400? (Charles Darwin)

Trebek: For the actor, who had the title role in “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

Jennings: What is 1,500 (Matt Damon)

His opponents were already mathematically eliminated going into Final Jeopardy. But the man born to answer in the form of a question still gave the correct response.

Jennings earned $40,000 in his Jeopardy! appearance and will move on to the semi-finals in the Battle of the Decades. The winner claims a $1 million prize.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

The NFL once again put on a show that was able to keep me tuned in for four hours even though I had no stake in either team.
