America, we made it without football

We got through a Sunday without football.
God bless the sports channels, they gave us women’s college basketball, they gave us soccer, and bowling.
But I just can’t paint my face for that. However – look what’s coming up.
“It’s a disease and once you have it, it doesn’t leave your body, ever,” said one woman in an interview that takes inside indoor dirt track motorcycle racing!
The idea seems to be to finish and not die.
You can definitely drink beer to that until about the 30th time they go around the course.
There’s also the Crashed Ice competition from in St Paul Minnesota.
Speed skaters careen down a toboggan run, four at a time – with the starting tower built right in front of the Rose window on the Eastern façade of the Cathedral of St. Paul – just below an image of the risen Christ.
But even that could not top, the Terry Bradshaw roast! It doesn’t get more football than that.
“No one was better at reading defenses. It was books he had trouble with.”
So, I survived a Sunday without football.
But let the record show it took basketball, soccer, bowling, motorcycles, skating and a roast to make up for the NFL.
That’s why they can get taxpayers to build their stadiums.
