TCTI: Too Crazy Too Ignore
Dave Ross

Should this be happening?

storm

This may not in fact be "it," but could this be what "it" looks like?

No one can draw a direct link from man-made carbon dioxide to that most unusual storm that put two million people in the dark.

"There's no light yet at the end of the tunnel or at the end of the hall, either, more three days after an unusual storm pretended it was an east to west hurricane."

No one can prove that too much greenhouse gas is the reason Colorado's burning:

"There isn't a house standing in this entire area. Nothing but total destruction, just rubble."

But scientists like Jonathan Overpeck at the University of Arizona have said for years that heat waves, droughts, storms and wildfires are exactly what Global Warming would be expected to cause, and that's why he thinks we ought to at least have a plan B if it gets out of control.

I have to say this eruption of hot weather is a little surprising because so many commentators have pronounced it a big con:

"It's a big con to say that what we're talking about doing is going to make any difference. And it's a big con to say that we know this is a big problem."

Because we're pretty sure America is far too powerful to succumb to the forces of nature.

And yet the month of June set 3,215 daily high temperature records, and last week 113 million people were under extreme heat advisories.

I'm the last person to suggest global warming has anything to do with this. Maybe it's the Higgs Boson. Maybe it's all a crock. I'm just saying if it turns out not to be a crock, well we just got a taste of the down side.

Isn't it supposed to be "climate change"?

If MAN is the cause of everything, then how did we cause the 1930s dust bowl?
How about that global warming that started 1500 years ago and let us a balmy northern Europe? .. Or the 'Little Ice Age' that ended all that by 1300, wiped out Nordic Greenland and annually froze over the River Themes until the 1820s? .. Or the rains that turned the 'great American desert' into a great place for farming after 1850 - until that pesky dust bowl thing?

Maybe global warming IS real. But maybe, just maybe, it is just a part of normal cyclic climate change that we might never discover the reasons for. Remember, scientists in the 1960s thought we were heading for another ice age. How did that all work out?

and if global warming is caused by man, how do we know we can fix it? We certainly are in a global economic cool down and
if we started limiting manufacturing the economy will get worse. We cant go back to horse and buggy. We we do anything we need to do it gradually. I know I dont wont to march to the orders of the world on this and transfer money to the third world. It is possible this is a cycle and we need to adapt. Farms will relocate to better climates.

This "Climate Change" or Global Warming"
Is a load of CRAP and is designed for our government to find more convenient ways to extract even more money out of businesses and citizens. The Earth has been around for BILLIONS of YEARS and we little humans have NO POWER over the WEATHER! I agree pollution is bad, but COME ON!!! This is the biggest scam ever perpetrated on mankind. Some people are so fiigging stupid!!! They deserve to have their money taken. Carbon Credits my A $ $ $..Hey Chicken Littles remember the hole in the OZONE in the 80's ????

Climate change is a fact of our existance
Geology/plate tectonics have more to do with the changes as well as the polarity the Earth. But than radicals or liberals couldn't really come up with wealth redistribution or quick fixes for that cause could they?

    Dave, it's futile..........
to discuss climate change with Rightwing nutcases who are predisposed towards corporate economic interests in lieu of University of Washington Environmental Research positions. Conservatives could lose their own houses to these increasing conditions and they would still drink the Corporate koolaid. Not wise.

what corporate kool-ail-be specific and be specific and what we could do that wouldn't shut down world economies yet effectively reverse this warming trend.
And how can you be so flat out confident about whatever the UN or Colleges state? Are you aware that part of the scientific process involves a heavy dose of Skeptisim? I am sometimes conservative but mostly I am a skeptic when everyone is told "March this Way". Why aren't you remotely skeptical?

What about the crappy weather and below "normal" temps we have been having this spring and summer in the northwest. Is that due to global warming or climate change?

    It's funny...
How if you have more snowfall and much colder than "normal" temps in many parts of the country during the winter, the global warming nazis just say that it is strange "weather" and doesn't have anything to do one way or another with climate change because it doesn't fit into their narrative. Same with hurricanes, if we have more than "normal" its due to climate change, less than "normal" it's just the weather, not the climate. Because as everyone knows, local weather is totally different from the planets climate. Must be nice to have it both ways.

    The planet HATES US!
When are people going to realize that the planet does what the planet does without regard for the existence of us self-important, thinking-we-can-change-it, entities called human beings! The planet is sociopathic about us. There is no place on it that one can live without holocaust-like destruction coming from the atmosphere or the local geology. For all the crap about planting more trees, I think whomever has had a tree destroy their home, car, or property will disagree that "more trees on the planet" are needed! For all the talk of "climate change", IT HAPPENS DAILY! HOURLY! Get a damned barometer already! Just hang-on, go for the ride when the planet pitches a fit, and then if you live through it, take whatever remains of your life and belongings, and move somewhere else, and wait for the NEXT "planet fit" to occur. Makes the idea of "colonizing" the moon, or Mars, etc., not seem like such a bad idea, huh?

Why does Al Gore only rear his fat head in the summer time?
Because he’s hibernating in the winter in the midst of the record cold temperatures we’ve been having year after year. Why not scare people about a warming earth when they are sweating in the summer heat? From his rigged “hockey stick” chart to the e-mails discovered at University of East Anglia to the fact that key thermometers where placed in sunshine or near A/C exhaust vents, etc, its clear to me that we are being SCAMMED.

30,000 years ago, global warming ended the Ice Age - and the Neanderthals all dies out.

Neanderthals actually believe Al invented the internet, so he feels a certain kinship - or maybe a real kinship. In any event, He's lonely.

Why were there once glaciers half a mile thick covering Seattle and why did the glaciers suddenly melt? I know the glaciers were a fact because I saw them in a Dave Ross commercial!
