“The Safe,” as it’s affectionately known, is home to the Seattle’s major league baseball team the Mariners. The team has been playing there since July 1999 when their original home field, the Kingdome, was abandoned. And while the Mariners have their ups and downs, there’s no bad seat at Safeco Field, with sweeping views of Puget Sound and downtown Seattle.
Seattle is known for its rain, but don’t worry, Safeco Field is prepared for the worst with a retractable roof. Safeco Field is one of the best fields in the Major Leagues with fabulous food and drink at spots like the Bullpen Market, Bullpen Pub, and Hit It Here Café. There’s something for everyone from the traditional hot dog and roasted peanuts to sushi, clam chowder, and garlic fries.
For a behind the scenes look at Safeco Field, take a tour to see the press box, luxury suites, field, dugout and visitor’s clubhouse. There are also about a dozen pieces of art designed by Northwest artists to add to Safeco’s allure.
Whether or not the Mariners make the playoffs, visitors and locals alike, love a summer’s day at the ballpark.
