Fisherman's Terminal
June 20, 2008 @ 10:49 am (Updated: 10:23 am - 3/27/11 )The heart of original Ballard, Fisherman's Terminal is home to the North Pacific fishing fleet.
At the terminal you can wander the docks and imagine yourself on one of these boats crashing through 40 foot swells searching for crab pots in the Bering Sea, or eat in one of the many restaurants on the wharf where you can buy fresh fish right off the boat.
The Fisherman's Memorial near Chinook's was erected to memorialize those who brave the waters to provide us with King Crab and salmon. Family members often leave personal items as messages of love.
The Port of Seattle established Fisherman's Terminal in 1914 at Salmon Bay. Now, more than 700 commercial boats moor there.
