Lineup changes at KIRO Radio

John Curley is no longer hosting Seattle's Morning News. He's still in the KIRO Radio family and we're working with him to find the best possible platform for his talent. The change was made, because KIRO Radio has been hearing from a LOT of you that you want straight-forward news, traffic and weather first thing in the morning - saving the talk shows for later in the day. We heard that message loud and clear. So, effective today we've made some adjustments to our lineup and we're doubling up on news in the morning with more news each hour delivered by two of the most respected news voices in the Northwest: Dave Ross and Linda Thomas.

KIRO RADIO LINEUP
4a-5a The Wall Street Journal
5a-9a Seattle's Morning News with Dave Ross & Linda Thomas (featuring all of the day's top stories, with traffic & weather together every 10 minutes on the 7s).
9a-10a Ross & Burbank
10a-Noon The Luke Burbank Show (with contributors including Tom Tangney and others.)
Noon-3p The Dori Monson Show
3p-7p The Ron & Don Show
7p-10p The Andrew Walsh Show
10p-4a Coast to Coast with George Noory

    Are you serious?? I am so disapointed! John Curley is the main reason I tune in, in the morning. I love his humor and his funny stories. Really gets the day off to a great start. Put him in a time slot where his humor can be appreciated. One of the funniest shows I ever listened to was when he and Don bantered back and forth. I was falling down laughing! Please take care of John and put him in a prime time slot.

    I was very disappointed when the change was made to JC. I felt the Thomas, Tangney and Radke dynamic was good mornings. While the departure of Radke triggered the changes, JC is just too hyper and talkative for my morning tastes. I like getting the news, leaving the commentary for later in the day. I think if Tom and Usula still want the morning show, I feel they are a good fit.

    So, what you're saying is that Dave Ross won't turn the morning news into some condescending platform for his brand of common sense? Really. Curley is very entertaining, and maybe his schtick is more suited to the afternoon or evening. Pat Cashman and Lisa Foster in the morning? Please?

    I enjoy Dave and Linda, but I LOVED listening to John in the morning. Actually I enjoy listening to John anytime...he makes me laugh and he makes me think. Can you give him Ron & Don's slot?

    I must say I am tired of Ron and Don. They are so predictable and unoriginal. Curley would be great in that spot!

    Having been in the broadcast business in the late 70's through early 90's, I understand the constant juggling act of programming for a demo/psycho-graphic moving target. John Curley is a major asset and I am glad to hear that he is still in the KIRO family. And yes, I do miss the Dave and Luke interplay. to listeners, I say let's play nice and not throw tantrums. The picture at KIRO is larger than any one of us....

    While I appreciate that KIRO is listening to there listeners, their changes are always way too drastic. Suggestion: Leave Curley in the AM, love the up-beat tone, just limit his chatter & add more Linda for the news (love her!) Please, please, please put Dave back where he belongs...9am! He and Luke are the best TOGETHER! I couldn't stand him before Luke joined in. The suggestion to add JC w/Dori ...not a bad one.

    I listened to KIRO from 7pm-10pm just because of John. I didn't care much for his move to morning, because I would only get to hear 45 minutes of his show. I'll miss Dave Ross at 10am-Noon, but John and Luke perhaps along with Ursula would be awesome in that time slot. Don't take our Curley away.

    JC and the new line up was the only reason I listened to the AM news in the car AND at work. I 100% will not be listening from 5-noon. 7 hours of Liberal Linda, Dave and Luke?!?! Huge pass! Really hope JC comes back during the day. I'll be on KOMO radio until noon.

    KIRO makes so many changes that they don't even realize when something is working. For me Dave and Luke was the most listenable show all day. JC was second then Ron and Don 3rd. Dori is been there done that. Loved him years ago now I'm just so tired of him. JC in the morning. Dave back with Luke. PLEASE!
