Lineup changes at KIRO Radio

John Curley is no longer hosting Seattle's Morning News. He's still in the KIRO Radio family and we're working with him to find the best possible platform for his talent. The change was made, because KIRO Radio has been hearing from a LOT of you that you want straight-forward news, traffic and weather first thing in the morning - saving the talk shows for later in the day. We heard that message loud and clear. So, effective today we've made some adjustments to our lineup and we're doubling up on news in the morning with more news each hour delivered by two of the most respected news voices in the Northwest: Dave Ross and Linda Thomas.

KIRO RADIO LINEUP
4a-5a The Wall Street Journal
5a-9a Seattle's Morning News with Dave Ross & Linda Thomas (featuring all of the day's top stories, with traffic & weather together every 10 minutes on the 7s).
9a-10a Ross & Burbank
10a-Noon The Luke Burbank Show (with contributors including Tom Tangney and others.)
Noon-3p The Dori Monson Show
3p-7p The Ron & Don Show
7p-10p The Andrew Walsh Show
10p-4a Coast to Coast with George Noory

    Dave Ross in the morning? No! I like Dave but man, today was really uncomfortable. You could tell in everyone's voice that some tension was holding back the truth. Bring back the format to where it was. Everyone at my work loves it.

    the only reason I came back in the AM was because you dumped the news chick (ditz) and her partners. the only thing worse then an hour of Ross is 5 hours of his drivel. Sorry John I hope they keep thier promise and find you a slot.

    The new schedule now shows only one hour of Ross and Burbank with Ross getting 5-9a (with Linda) and Burbank getting two solo hours 10-noon (with contributors). Looks to me like Curley got squeezed by a need to separate Dave and Luke. Wondered how long that was gonna last anyway... Curley was fun, professional and got all the news in... gawd knows he was better than the morose Bill Radtke. Dave's great, a Seattle legend, no problem there. Luke's great, a podcast legend, no problem there. I think KIRO realize's they're each better on their own. Hope they put you back in the evenings Curley!

    I have never liked JC on Evening Magazine, but I LOVE him on Kiro Radio. I never thought in a million years I would say that. But he is terrific on radio. LOVE. So fun to listen to — I love his style. And I don't even like talk radio. I missed him so much, I started subscribing to his Podcasts since he moved off of evenings (my best time to tune in). No offense Andrew, but time to scoot over and bring back John. COME BACK CURLEY!!!! XOXO!

    I love kiro talk radio and listen all day until ron and donn come on, then it goes off! I would LOVE John Curley to take their spot! You have to put him somewhere in your line up. I loved his stories. I guess I am switching to sports radio in the A.M. So sad!

    Very disappointed to hear you took John Curley off the morning show. He was the main reason I listened on my way to work and at work when I could during those hours. Started the morning out with a laugh and a smile.

    ...Is the BOMB. You guys screwed up... AGAIN! Take Ron and Don OFFFFFFF and put Curley there. Ron and Don suck. They were funny the first ten minutes of the first day I heard them.

    I like picking through various podcasts and enjoy listening to Dave and Luke, Dori is GREAT, Ron and Don on my way home - Thank You, but PLEASE find a spot for John. Ya, the morning wasn't perfect as folks prefer the news, but John is needed to keep some very important points of view that have "wisdom" and life experiences. There isn't much "talk" with "real" wisdom out there. Keep up the great work John and looking forward to your new podcasts!! I was scratching my head on Sunday afternoon when I saw you were missing from the "podcast picture". Thanks Kiro!
