A conversation about pets on the campaign trail took an interesting turn Wednesday.
During the Tom & Curley Show, KIRO Radio’s Tom Tangney admitted taking a video of a cat dying.
Tom told John Curley that he did it out of love and to memorialize the feline.
“It’s so humanizing,” Tom said.
The issue was brought up while the show hosts were discussing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s dog allergies. During the show, Tom said the only real dogs are ones that weigh at least 50 pounds.
“I think there are some dogs that don’t even constitute, or qualify, as dogs,” Tom stated.
For example, Hillary Clinton has a toy poodle. That is not a dog, Tom said.
The Clintons had another dog as well. Buddy the chocolate-colored Labrador Retriever was born in 1997, but died in 2002 when he was hit by a car.
“Do you have a video of the Clinton dog getting killed?” John inquired.
“No, only cats,” Tom said.
John couldn’t believe Tom would take a video of a cat dying, instead of rendering aid. Tom was comforting it; petting it.
“What, did you have a selfie-stick?” John asked.
Tom gave the cat one last lap of water.
“It’s like a weird French film,” John said as he attempted to end the conversation.
