New technology improves carpet options

Imagine carpet made of corn.

It's a renewable resource that Lyle Morris, with Interior Floor Designs, says is actually extremely durable and nearly stain proof.

"And it's softer to the hand," he said.

Sorona Smartstrand has been on the market for about five years and Morris said it's relatively affordable. It also comes in different weaves, textures, and colors.

It's easy to maintain and it'll stand up against the other carpet, especially with the stain resistance, which is built into the fiber itself.

Interior Floor Designs is a proud sponsor of KIRO Radio's Home Matters.

Home Matters can be heard on KIRO Radio Saturdays at 8 a.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m. Available anytime ON DEMAND at
