Seattle based music store Easy Street Records announced Wednesday it will be closing its lower Queen Anne location.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to our beloved Queen Anne neighborhood,” writes Easy Street’s Matt Vaughan on the Easy Street Blog. “We have been at this location for 12 years. We did not want to close.”

The landlord at the location wanted to sign a longer term lease than the record store felt they could manage so they decided to move on.

A Chase Bank will begin occupying the location at 20 Mercer Street beginning Jan. 21.

The lower Queen Anne Easy Street location is set to close Jan. 18. But they assure loyal patrons that operations out of their West Seattle location will continue.

“We recently signed a new 15-year lease at our original store in West Seattle, where we will carry on the Easy Street tradition of great in-stores, yummy breakfasts, tasty vinyl, and overall, an excellent selection of music. We hope to see you there soon,” says Vaughan.
