Pearl Jam releases new single, announces new album drop date

The wait is over for Pearl Jam fans, as the Seattle band announced Thursday they'll release their highly-anticipated new album Lightning Bolt on October 15, 2013 in the US.

The new album, produced by longtime collaborator Brendan O'Brien, is Pearl Jam's first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer, which was released nearly four years ago in September of 2009.

The band released the first track from the album, "Mind Your Manners" Thursday as well.

The news comes just days after Pearl Jam announced a two-leg, 24-date North American tour that concludes with a KeyArena homecoming December 6.

Public tickets for the KeyArena show and the rest of the tour go on-sale Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m.
