A clown in the Macy’s Holiday Parade

It’s a Seattle tradition: the day after Thanksgiving always brings a flurry of family activities, including the Macy’s Holiday Parade in downtown Seattle.
Donning clown apparel, KING 5’s Jim Dever called up John Curley on the phone shortly before the parade began.
John’s question, are the parade clowns lower on the totem pole than the guys who have to follow the horses and pick up their leavings?
“Actually the guy cleans up after the horses is a clown,” said Dever.
We hope that wasn’t Jim’s job at any point, though judging by the look on his face while he was on the phone with John, it could have been.
