John Curley offers alternative for $15 minimum wage
The income gap in American society is increasing and four out of every five Americans are near poverty levels, according to a national study. And lately in Washington we’ve been trying to answer the question: What is a livable wage?
The newest outrage in Seattle is SeaTac workers shooting for a $15 an hour minimum wage. KIRO Radio Host Dori Monson is outraged on this issue, while John Curley and Andrew Walsh seem to hold different views.
John thinks people who want $15 an hour should move to North Dakota because there are so few people willing to work there, with many jobs available.
“If things are that bad, move,” says John.
On the other hand, Andrew doesn’t find it very easy to just get in your car and leave town.
“Mobility is not something that people can just choose. People have obligations, they can’t just leave,” adds Andrew.
