Millions of Americans, and tens of thousands of Washingtonians woke up to some really exciting news on the fast food front.
McDonald’s is in the early stages of looking at whether or not it can make breakfast available later in the day. I am so excited.
Fans of the Egg McMuffin and Sausage Biscuit – which by the way there is no comparison, the Sausage Biscuit is way better than the Egg McMuffin – have long wanted the option to get breakfast at McDonald’s after 10:30 a.m. but offering both the breakfast and lunch menu was considered logistically impossible given the tight kitchen spaces of the restaurants – although somehow Jack in the Box manages to do that. But extending breakfast is now an option McDonald’s is seriously considering.
Now, I cheated on the Paleo diet about two weeks ago. I’ll cheat about once a month. And I’m not kidding you, I had this internal debate for a good 20 minutes about whether or not I should drive to McDonald’s to try to get there before 10:30 and get that delicious hash brown, that delicious Sausage Biscuit and Egg, and maybe even a McGriddle – because I really wanted to cheat – or do I just go to Jack in the Box and order their breakfast later. The ironic thing is by the time I made that decision it was already after 10:30.
I cannot wait for the day where I don’t have to have that conversation, that internal monologue. I can’t wait for the day when I can go to McDonald’s at 11 o’clock in the morning or 11 o’clock at night and order breakfast
food.
