How 6 fictional presidents might deal with the real-life government shutdown

At a recent media panel, Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope on the show 'Scandal,' weighed in how the fictional White House in her 1-hour drama would handle the government shutdown.

That got us thinking about how other fictional presidents would deal with Congress.

President James Marshall in Air Force One

I don't know what you've heard about this president - I mean, he was in the presence of the Ark of the Covenant and his face didn't melt, and he survived being encased in carbonite for years. Not to mention, he's the captain of the Millennium Falcon, the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. He's also outrun Imperial starships.

As far as presidents go - President Marshall is among the coolest. And if he can handle terrorists aboard Air Force One, he would have the command to get the House and Senate to work things out. He might even invite them aboard Air Force One for a pivotal shutdown meeting. And then, if they still didn't work it out, he'd tell them to GET OFF HIS PLANE and shoot first.
